Click here to read my movie suggestion for today and … it is “The Big Red One” for those of you who know that today is V-E Day. That is the anniversary (today’s the 72nd) of the end of World War II in Europe – V-E Day from May 8, 1945. “The Big Red One” isn’t a war movie worthy of the day, but I thought I’d toss it out because it follows (not very well or accurately) a squad of soldiers from the battles of North Africa to the end of the war in Europe. I guess “The Big Red One” is somewhat watchable – but it is riddled with stereotypes, bad acting and, worst of all, bad direction from a director with combat experience in WWII with “The Big Red One.”
So, I’m doing a daily recommendation of a movie … and they’re all movies that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
