Allison got this shot of Daffy Duck on Jan. 17, 2016. Daffy’s getting bussed (note two “s” here for the correct spelling … one “s” and it’s a transportation vehicle). She was watching the parade along Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom and was on a day trip to Walt Disney World when she got the shot.
Here’s a second bird that photographed Feb. 6, 2016, at the boat landing area of the Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts (we were at the Beach Club) while waiting for transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were doing a long weekend at Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
Cinderella Castle is in the background as the front car of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train approaches this curved portion of track. I got this shot while we were at the Magic Kingdom for a weekend visit to Walt Disney World on May 8, 2016.
It was a bleak, chilly and gloomy day on Feb. 6, 2016, when we Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here’s a shot that shows trees just beginning to sprout leaves after being trimmed, with the Hollywood Brown Derby sign in the background. We were headed to the Brown Derby for lunch when I took the photo and we were at Walt Disney World for a long weekend.
Here’s a detail shot of windows from “offices” along Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom. I got the shot while waiting for family members to shop along the street. I was a chilly day on Feb. 7, 2016, when I took the picture. We were wrapping up a long weekend at Walt Disney World on this Sunday and it was the last stop before heading for home.
Allison was at Tom Sawyer Island on Jan. 30, 2016, when she was used foliage at the top of the frame to make an interesting photo through her Nikon lens’ depth-of-field. In the background is Space Mountain. She was on a day trip to Walt Disney World when she got the shot at the Magic Kingdom.
After the nine-pound lemon I’ve already photographed, I like to get pictures of the individual crops at the Living with the Land ride at The Land in EPCOT. I got this shot of fluted pumpkins April 10, 2016, while we were at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival at Walt Disney World.
Here’s a photo that’s a metaphor for the “all roads lead to …” well, in this case EPCOT. Not only the road, but also the walkway and the monorail line. We were at Walt Disney World for a day trip to enjoy the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival on April 10, 2016, when I got this shot.
I’ve taken a number of shots of riders on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This photo was a few tenths of a second after another that I got it on May 8, 2016. This one shows a bit more emotion from just about all the riders. We were at the Magic Kingdom for a weekend visit to Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
The single most “can’t miss” photo subject at Walt Disney World is Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom. I got this shot May 8, 2016, during a weekend visit.
You can see the Spaceship Earth sphere from just about everywhere at EPCOT. Here’s the, uh well, design outside Ellen’s Energy Adventure at the Universe of Energy Pavilion with Spaceship Earth in the background. We were at Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016, when I got this shot.
Virtually everyone who goes to EPCOT gets a photo of this: Spaceship Earth. The sphere can be seen from just about everywhere at EPCOT and photos of families, selfies and just plain shots like this one make this the most photographed spot at EPCOT. The only landmark that has more photos taken of it during a year is Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom. We were at Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016, when I got this shot.
The size of the lighthouse at the end of the dock shared by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort can make you miss the seagull that’s actually the focus of this photo by Allison. She got the shot while we were at Walt Disney World on Feb. 6, 2016.
Allison got this shot from the front of our vehicle while we were speeding along near the end of the Test Track ride at EPCOT. It was a rare nighttime ride for us (we don’t usually hit Test Track that late) and if you look close, we’re just over 64 mph. We were at Walt Disney World on Feb. 5, 2016, when she got the shot.
Here’s a blast-from-the-past photo: Mickey Mouse on stacking cups at Walt Disney World. Remember stacking cups? Allison Disney-ed up her set. I got this shot Sept. 10, 2006, while Allison and I were on our annual father-daughter trip to Walt Disney World. We were staying at our favorite: Caribbean Beach Resort.
Here’s another shot I got at Walt Disney World of Star Wars Storm Troopers. I got it as the characters “interrogated” guests outside Voyage of The Little Mermaid near the newly opened Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Feb. 6, 2016.
Allison got this shot of one of the JAMMitors while we were at EPCOT on Feb. 5, 2016. Note the trash-can lid decoration on cast member Danny! The group does trash-can drumming and entertain at Future World East (turn left towards Mission: SPACE and Test Track after you enter the park and go past Spaceship Earth. They’re a hoot to watch! We were on a long weekend to Walt Disney World when she got the shot.
I got this shot of a neat sand sculpture at EPCOT on April 10, 2016, while we were on a day trip to Walt Disney World. The sculpture was in the World Showcase.
Allison got this shot of illuminated Mickey balloons on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom on May 7, 2016. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when she took the photo.
Happy Fourth of July in this year of 2016! Using the holiday as a theme, today’s Disney photo is fireworks by Allison. She got some great shots of fireworks on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. Of course the fireworks go off over the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World.

As we come to and in the spirit of the Fourth of July of 2016, I’m posting a few fireworks photos by Allison. She got some great shots of fireworks on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. Of course the fireworks go off over the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World. Click here for all our fireworks photos.
Tomorrow is the Fourth of July of 2016 and here is another fireworks photo by Allison.

Here’s yet another that she got of fireworks on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. Of course the fireworks go off over the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World.
Well, with decision by the Disney Co. to remove alligator and crocodile references from rides and the some characters from parades, I decided to reuse our photo of “Tick-Tock” the crocodile in “Peter Pan.” The decision comes in the wake of the death of a toddler who was killed by an alligator at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Here’s the original cutline: “With Peter Pan above, the crocodile (his name is “Tick-Tock”) awaits at the United Kingdom Pavilion during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Allison got this shot while she and Debbie were visiting Walt Disney World on March 16, 2015.” And, it appears the New York Daily News somehow managed to use Allison’s photo in their Disney story about the issue. Unfortunately they didn’t give her or my blog credit. Ah, what’s happened to copyright? The internet, of course.
I guess this bird didn’t read the sign at the beach shared by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and the Beach Club Resort. I got the shot after breakfast on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
With the recent tragedy of an alligator killing a toddler at the Seven Seas Lagoon, the issue of wildlife at Walt Disney World is in the news. Here’s a warning about feeding birds to guests at the Stormalong Bay pool area shared by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and the Beach Club Resort. I got the shot after breakfast on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
I’ve posted other photos of the accordion-stretch buses at Walt Disney World and here’s another one. I like this image as being an interesting look at this style of bus. I got it on May 8, 2016, while at the Magic Kingdom waiting for our own bus. Funny, our family has never ridden one of these.
Of course the Magic Kingdom and the other parks at Walt Disney World always have wonderful flowers in bloom, but they were quite evident during our visit on May 8, 2016. Although this shot was near the Cinderella Castle, more were on display for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which was near the end of its run for 2016 when we visited that weekend.
Today’s Disney photo posting on my blog is an apology. Over time, I misidentified the Seven Seas Lagoon. It is the body of water in front of the Magic Kingdom and just experienced a tragedy involving a toddler being attacked and killed by an alligator. I had identified the World Showcase Lagoon at EPCOT as the Seven Seas Lagoon. I have tried to correct all mentions of the Seven Seas Lagoon in my blog posts. Here’s a photo from the real the Seven Seas Lagoon. We were on a weekend trip on May 8, 2016, to Walt Disney World when I got this shot. The young guest in the front of the boat is taking a photo of a monorail car approaching on the track in the background.
We were on a boat ride from the Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa when I got this shot May 8, 2016. The sun backlights the American flag on our vessel. We were on a weekend trip to Walt Disney World when I got this shot.
It appears as if this monorail train is running into the iconic Spaceship Earth sphere at EPCOT. I always get shots of the monorail and I got this one on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
You can see the monorail from many places, including this view of it on track to the transportation center after leaving the Magic Kingdom. We were on a boat going to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa when I got this shot May 8, 2016, during our weekend trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s a closer-up shot of guests riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I got it on May 8, 2016, while we were at the Magic Kingdom for a weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
I don’t usually take photos of my meal (that’s Allison’s specialty), but here’s my breakfast of the iconic Mickey waffles and sausage that I had May 7, 2016, at the Captain’s Grille at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. We had breakfast at the resort and then walked into EPCOT. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when I got the shot.
The Magic Kingdom, just like the rest of Walt Disney World, is infested with video cameras. With the exception of restrooms, you are being recorded wherever you go. The sign on this piece of equipment you see as your vehicle starts on its journey on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is a bit obvious, though. I got this shot May 8, 2016, while we were on a weekend trip.
You can even find interesting ways to photograph something as mundane as one of the buses in the Walt Disney World transportation system. I got this shot May 7, 2016, as I was headed back to our room at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. In case you haven’t noticed, you can see the bus driver reflected in her mirror.
I truly enjoy shooting photos that show shapes. Here’s a nice look up the side of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. I got the shot on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
The magnolias were in bloom on May 7, 2016, as we left EPCOT to head back to our SUV parked at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. We had breakfast at the resort and then walked into the park for a few minutes before heading back and going to our check-in at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. The magnolia bloom shown here was near the ticket kiosk at the walking entrance to the park between the France and United Kingdom pavilions. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when I got the shot.
I got this shot as we pulled into the station at the end of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at the Magic Kingdom. Allison is wearing her Minnie Mouse ears in the car in front of me. We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 7, 2016.
Here’s another look at the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad site at the Magic Kingdom as viewed from the Walt Disney World Railroad (those in the know call it “WDWRR”). We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 8, 2016.
The empty monorail track at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa becomes a nice subject of shapes in this photo I snagged May 8, 2016, while we were waiting on a ride to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. We were there for a weekend visit and were wrapping things up with a final visit to the park for that trip.
See the red squiggle in this photo of the floating head at the Haunted Mansion? The slow shutter speed of my Nikon caught the focusing beam of my camera during the ride. We were at the Magic Kingdom on May 8, 2016, when I got the shot during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
We never miss a chance to get on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover when we’re at the Magic Kingdom. One of the treats is when the lights are on inside Space Mountain for repairs. You get to see the structure of the ride. It happened again for us on May 8, 2016, while we were on a weekend trip to Walt Disney World. Also, you can see a reflection of me taking the photo and Debbie sitting next to me.
Here’s a second photo I got of Space Mountain on May 8, 2016. The lights were on exposing the framework of the roller coaster and it could be seen as we rode on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom. We were on a weekend trip to Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
Here’s a shot looking across the water to Disney’s BoardWalk from the Stormalong Bay pool area shared by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and the Beach Club Resort. I got the shot on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
We’re not too impressed by the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride. It’s fun, certainly, but unless you’re using FastPasses, you might not like it as much after a 90-minute wait. Here’s a shot of guests enjoying the ride on May 8, 2016. We were at the Magic Kingdom for a weekend visit to Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
I got this shot of riders on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at the Magic Kingdom while riding the Walt Disney World Railroad (those in the know call it “WDWRR”). We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 8, 2016.
I’ve finally (after nearly two years) posted a photo showing the Walt Disney World Railroad at the Magic Kingdom. I’ve posted one photo just showing the steam from it, but now here’s a shot I got May 8, 2016, as the narrow-gauge train arrives at the Frontierland station. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend trip when we took a ride on the railroad.
Those are some big letters! We stayed overnight at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort at Walt Disney World and I got this shot from behind the big letters while waiting for transportation to the Magic Kingdom. I got this shot May 8, 2016.
Today is Memorial Day 2016. I wanted to show a photo of the American flag at Walt Disney World. So, here’s one I posted in the past and it is perfect: it is from the daily 5 p.m. flag lowering ceremony at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. We were on our way to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant When we saw this wonderful daily tradition in October 2014.
Here’s a shot looking forward from the back car on the Walt Disney World Railroad (known by its acronym – WDWRR) as it approaches the Fantasyland station at the Magic Kingdom. We took a ride on the WDWRR for the first time in several years when we were there May 8, 2016.
The fence around the Surfboard Bay Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort isn’t just for security for guests. I got this shot of a Great egret (also called a white heron) on May 7, 2016, after we arrived at the resort for a weekend stay. I’m not sure when the fence went up (it restricts pool hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.). It’s been awhile since we’ve stayed at this resort at Walt Disney World and I don’t recall the fence – but I do know the pool had posted hours.
I have to do a better job of getting a photo of the end of the Splash Mountain ride at the Magic Kingdom. I got this one on May 8, 2016, and you can see a guest’s hands up, but it’s just so-so and I can do better. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when I got the shot.
Can you find the Mouse Ears? Look to the right in the car of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as it heads up an incline. I got the shot at the Magic Kingdom while riding the Walt Disney World Railroad (those in the know call it “WDWRR”). We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 8, 2016.
I always get a photo of balloons being sold on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom. We were back at Walt Disney World on May 7, 2016, when I got this shot of a cast member’s balloons being backlit by the sun.
I like this shot of the Liberty Square Riverboat coming into dock since there’s the Haunted Mansion in the background and, at the far right, is the “Tangled” themed tower. We were moving through Frontierland when I got the shot at the Magic Kingdom on May 8, 2016. We were at Walt Disney World during a weekend visit that day.
I like using slow shutter speeds on my Nikon to create different images. Here’s one of colorful squiggles of light while we were at Journey into Imagination at EPCOT on May 7, 2016. We were back at Walt Disney World on May 7-8, 2016.
Happy May the Fourth! Here is a shot I got at Walt Disney World on Feb. 6, 2016, during a weekend trip. In it, a couple of storm trooper characters “interrogate” a guest. It’s near the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Happy May the Fourth! Here is a shot I got at Walt Disney World on Feb. 6, 2016, during a weekend trip. Shows a storm trooper character making its way through the crowd near the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You can never get enough of a good thing, so here’s another shot of the torii gate across from the entrance to the Japan Pavilion at EPCOT at Walt Disney World. I got this shot April 10, 2016, while we were on a day trip to the park. As I noted in an earlier photo, a torii gate is a traditional entrance to a sacred place. Click here for an explanation from Wiki. The straight-on shot of the torii gate has Spaceship Earth framed in the center.
OK, this photo has five elements I enjoy: Walt Disney World, EPCOT, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, the Disney monorail system and … clouds. Well, the clouds aren’t great, but the rest is spot-on. I got the shot during a day trip on April 10, 2016.
Here’s a peek of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad site at the Magic Kingdom that I got through the girders of a bridge while riding the Walt Disney World Railroad (those in the know call it “WDWRR”). We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 8, 2016.
Well, we were back at Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016, for a day trip to the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Here’s a shot showing the colorful flowers planted on the bank of the lake between the entrance and the World Showcase. PS: the “Mickey” is obvious here!
Here’s a shot of the JAMMitors at EPCOT. They’re trash-can drummers who entertain at Future World East (turn left towards Mission: SPACE and Test Track after you enter the park and go past Spaceship Earth. They’re a hoot to watch! I got this shot April 10, 2016, during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s a shot of another view of the entrance display for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We were at Walt Disney World for a day trip on April 10, 2016. Allison was down from the University of Florida and we were up from Naples, Fla. Here’s a shot of the entrance looking toward Spaceship Earth.
The Land at EPCOT has a really great ride very few put on their list of favorites: Living with the Land. I got this shot of a Walt Disney World cast member working the plants growing in the facility that features everything from hydroponics to fish farming on April 10, 2016.
Well, I’ve done this kind of photo before. Is this monorail coming or going? You can’t tell in a photograph since the monorail has this kind of car at each end. Well, it was going away. I got this shot at EPCOT during our day-visit to Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016.
Ah, spring means that Walt Disney World will celebrate with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We were there for a day trip on April 10, 2016. Allison was down from the University of Florida and we were up from Naples, Fla. Here’s a shot of the entrance looking toward Spaceship Earth.
I like the water displays at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We were at Walt Disney World for a day trip on April 10, 2016, when I got this shot. It was at the unnamed pavilion (unnamed today on the Disney interactive map but once the home to a neat film) that is used during the festival to showcase many growing things including bonsai and spiders and even a presentation by the University of Florida.
We were at Walt Disney World for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival on April 10, 2016, when I got this shot looking across the World Showcase Lagoon. I like the lagoon, but I was shooting the beautiful clouds.
Here’s another shot from the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT that I got April 10, 2016. I truly enjoy this little-appreciated ride (it gets a line only when the park is crowded). We were at Walt Disney World for a day trip when I got the shot.
I posted one yesterday and I’ll post one today: here’s a shot of the monorail train at Walt Disney World. I got this one April 10, 2016, as it moved into EPCOT near Spaceship Earth.
Even more Magic Bands have arrived at our house in Naples, Fla. Here is the box and they are for our trip next month for an overnight stay at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort during our visit to Walt Disney World.
Well, this is a Nikon picture spot at EPCOT. I have a Nikon. So I took a picture of the spot. OK, so it’s my attempt at humor. We were at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival during a day trip to Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016, when I got this shot at the entrance planting area.
You can’t say there isn’t some unintentional signage at Walt Disney World. You’ll find this one at the entrance to EPCOT. If you’re walking in from the parking lot, here’s one that tells you the three key elements of the day: where to go, where you can go and where you will find money. I noticed what the sign conveyed while we were on a day trip on April 10, 2016.
Ah, the Bard. You’ll find this bust of William Shakespeare at the aptly named Shakespeare Garden at the United Kingdom Pavilion at EPCOT. I got this shot on April 10, 2016, while we were at Walt Disney World. for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
The Dragon Fruit is Medusa-like in its appearance and we saw it during our trip on the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT on April 10, 2016. I truly enjoy this little-appreciated ride (it gets a line only when the park is crowded). We were at Walt Disney World for a day trip when I got the shot.
I always get a shot of the center hub when we’re at EPCOT. I got this one on April 10, 2016, during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s a blur of color (because of my camera’s slow shutter speed in the darkness) from the beginning of the trip on the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT. I got this shot on April 10, 2016. I truly enjoy this little-appreciated ride. We were at Walt Disney World for a day trip when I got the shot.
Well, not much is happening in this shot, but I do like the look of the pyramid that dominates the Mexico Pavilion in the World Showcase at EPCOT. I took the photo on April 10, 2016, during a day visit to the park at Walt Disney World.
My beloved University of Florida and its Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences is well-represented at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Here’s a look at the stage where a UF presentation is given daily throughout the festival. We were at EPCOT on a day trip when I got this shot on April 10, 2016.
We were at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival when I got this shot of three trees bending in the wind. Here’s a look at the stage where a UF presentation is given daily throughout the festival. We were at EPCOT on a day trip to Walt Disney World when I got this shot on April 10, 2016.
I always take photos of any monorail car at Walt Disney World. Here’s one from our day trip on April 10, 2016, that I got as we approached the entrance to The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT. Of course, just about any photo of the monorail you get will have the iconic Spaceship Earth sphere in it.
We really like the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT. It is also a nice barometer of how many guests are in the parks on any given day. With light crowd counts at Walt Disney World, you’ll walk on the ride. However, on a medium-count day like in this photo I took April 10, 2016, there will be a line (we had FastPasses for this day) and it goes off into the distance. However, you can see the unused crowd guides for really heavy days.
Here’s a scene of which I don’t have many photographs: the village you can see during a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad (known by its acronym – WDWRR). It is between the Frontierland and Fantasyland stations at the Magic Kingdom. I don’t have many photos since we don’t often ride the WDWRR. I got this one when we were there May 8, 2016.
Here’s a rare sight: no one in seats on a bus at Walt Disney World. We were headed back to our room on May 7, 2016, at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort when I took this shot. We were the only three guests on the bus and we called it our “private” transportation.
I like the solitude shown in this photo of an empty bench at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. We were walking to EPCOT after breakfast on May 7, 2016, when I spotted it. We were on a weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
Here’s looking across from one travel path to another going into Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. I enjoy how the colors and design work well together as does the reflection on the water. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit on May 7, 2016, when I got this shot.
I always get a shot of a monorail car whenever I see one. I got this one on May 8, 2016, as one from the transportation center was about to arrive at the station at the Magic Kingdom. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when I got this pretty pedestrian shot.
I got this shot as we left the Fantasyland station on the Walt Disney World Railroad (known by its acronym – WDWRR) at the Magic Kingdom. We took a ride on the WDWRR for the first time in several years when we were there May 8, 2016.
There are bunch of nice views when you ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom. We were on a weekend trip on May 8, 2016, to Walt Disney World when I got this shot that faces out to the hub in front of the Cinderella Castle.
What’s that in the air? It’s a parasailing guest over a lake near the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. I got this shot on May 8, 2016, while at the Magic Kingdom waiting for a bus. Oh, I was so focused on the parasailing guest I didn’t notice until later that a monorail was in the frame.
I have to admit that I enjoy seeing a red squiggle in the slow-shutter speed shots. The red squiggle is the focusing beam caught in the image that my eye didn’t see at the time. I got this one at the Haunted Mansion. We were at the Magic Kingdom on May 8, 2016, when I got the shot during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
I used the top of this dock piling to frame the bottom of this photo looking across the bay to Disney’s BoardWalk from the dock area shared by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and the Beach Club Resort. I got the shot after breakfast on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
Symmetry is something that I enjoy in photos and here are some lightposts at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort that have symmetry in this photo. I got the shot after breakfast on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
One of the least noticed and therefore under-appreciated buildings at Walt Disney World is Journey into Imagination at EPCOT. I know the ride could use an update (some of its projections have seen much better days and its story could be updated, too), but it’s not bad and a quick line most of the time. Here’s one of my shots that shows the beauty of the building. I got it on May 7, 2016.
You can see the iconic sphere of Spaceship Earth wherever you are at EPCOT. I got this shot on May 7, 2016, during one of our visits to the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit.
OK, here’s another look at the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad coming at you at the Magic Kingdom as viewed from the Walt Disney World Railroad (those in the know call it “WDWRR”). We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 8, 2016.
I’m continuing to post views of the Magic Kingdom as seen from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Here’s one looking back toward The Plaza Restaurant area at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. as it feeds into the Hub at the Cinderella Castle. I got the shot when we visited Walt Disney World on May 8, 2016.
Well, here’s the second day in a row I’m posting a photo of a view of the Magic Kingdom as seen from the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Here’s one looking toward Cinderella Castle. I got the shot when we visited Walt Disney World on May 8, 2016.
Here’s a shot of the Winnie the Pooh topiary at EPCOT, near the Canada Pavilion in the World Showcase. I got the shot on May 7, 2016, while we visited Walt Disney World on a weekend for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
I like slow shutter speed photos like this one because of the wonderful designs created by the colorful lights. I got this one at Journey into Imagination at EPCOT on May 7, 2016, while we visited Walt Disney World on a weekend for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
One of the sports teams logos up on the side of the buildings at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is of my favorite (and alma mater) … the University of Florida Gators. It was great that we were at Walt Disney World on a weekend for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival when I got this shot May 7, 2016, but this little visual treat made it even better since we’ve stayed there before and I hadn’t noticed the Gators flag.
It was a peaceful and very calm morning on May 8, 2016, as Debbie and I walked to the food court from our room at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. The pool was an excellent example of “smooth as glass” (it was early in the morning and it wasn’t open yet) and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. We visited Walt Disney World on a weekend for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
Allison is getting better and better with her photography. Here’s an example of her experimenting with light in a nighttime image. She shot this illuminated Mickey balloon highlighted by the lights of Main Street, U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom on May 7, 2016. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when she took the photo.
You can see the transportation boat headed under a bridge as it heads to debarkation at EPCOT. The bridge above it leads to Disney’s BoardWalk (left from this view) from Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts. I got this shot on May 7, 2016, as we walked back to the Yacht Club after enjoying the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit.
I got this shot of a transportation boat as it prepares to dock at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts. I got this shot on May 7, 2016, and this also shows a “no swimming” sign on the beach at the resorts. However, there was no rope fencing that would go up later after a tragedy where an alligator killed a toddler at the Seven Seas Lagoon. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit.
I didn’t realize it, but these potted plants at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort were not arranged symmetrical to the walkway and lighthouse. I nearly got the shot I wanted, but the beautifully colored plants just didn’t set up right for the shot I envisioned. We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit when I took the photo.
I’ve taken a bunch of photo of the monorail and here’s another of one as it passes through EPCOT. Like other shots I’ve posted to this blog, you can’t tell which way it’s going (hint: away from the camera). We were at Walt Disney World for a weekend visit on May 7, 2016, when I got this shot.
Here’s a rare photo from me: it’s the only one of Country Bear Jamboree that I’ve posted on this blog. When I got it on May 7, 2016, it was the first time I’ve been to Country Bear Jamboree in 20 years. It’s just not one of the shows that we see when we go to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. We were there for a weekend visit on May 7, 2016, when I got this shot.
Here’s another view as we pulled into the station at the end of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at the Magic Kingdom. We were at Walt Disney World for an overnight visit when I got this one May 7, 2016.
I like focusing in on the splash of color that this awning brings to the side of a building at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. I got the shot on May 7, 2016, during our weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
Here’s a shot of one of the two walkways into Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. This area underwent a renovation in 2014 as part of an overall renovation of the Hub area in front of the Cinderella Castle. I got this shot May 8, 2016, as we were on a weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
OK, call me paranoid! I saw these floating flower arrangements moving! It was like some kind of surveillance system in the lake as you enter World Showcase at EPCOT. We were at Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016, for this past season’s EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival when I got the shot.
Well, here’s a static shot of Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner. We’ve never made a food or snack stop here, but I liked the splash of color on the morning of Feb. 6, 2016, that it offered my lens. No one’s at the diner because it hasn’t opened yet. We were at Walt Disney World for a long weekend when I got the shot.
If you get to some parks at Walt Disney World early, you don’t always take a tram. Here’s a line of folks walking back to their vehicles as a tram heads to drop off guests at EPCOT. We were at Walt Disney World on April 10, 2016, for this past season’s EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival when I got the shot.
You’ll most likely recognize the globe of the world that’s the centerpiece for the IllumiNations: Reflection of Earth show each night at EPCOT. It’s on a barge that’s pulled into position on World Showcase Lagoon each evening. Allison got the shot after dinner on May 5, 2016. We were on a long weekend to Walt Disney World when she got the shot.
The plethora of lights on Pinocchio’s float in Main Street Electrical Parade takes the obvious away – a spectator’s head is at the bottom left side of the frame. Allison was at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World on Feb. 6, 2016, when she got this shot.
Walt Disney World must have its own sign division. It has signs for every occasion – especially wet floors and walkways. Here’s one warning of a somewhat obvious water spot at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. I clicked this one on Feb. 7, 2016, during our long weekend visit.
Allison got some shots at Tom Sawyer Island on Jan. 30, 2016. She used the foliage to show depth-of-field in a variety of shots. In this one, from her perch you can see the “spitting camel” near the “Magic Carpets of Aladdin” ride in Adventureland. Allison was on a day trip to Walt Disney World when she got this shot at the Magic Kingdom.
