I got my first look at Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on a day trip to Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018. Here’s a shot of the neat Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster. It’s called “family friendly,” so don’t expect big-coaster excitement. However, I’ve heard from friends that it’s a lot of fun, but I didn’t have a FastPass, so I’ll catch it on another trip.

The stuntwoman who played “Marion” does a handstand during the noon performance May 12, 2018, before doing a scene for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got the shot.
Here’s the final shot I got of the stuntwoman who played “Marion” as she came out of her handstand during the noon performance May 12, 2018. It was for the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got the shot.
I’m not the only person who enjoys taking photos of monorail trains at Walt Disney World. Everyone takes those photos! Here’s a guest taking a shot of the train as it arrives at the station at EPCOT on Oct. 20, 2018. We were there for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
A Cast Member waves his light wand to help guests find seat before the Oct. 20, 2018, performance of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s one more photo from the sequence where “Indiana Jones” is chased by the boulder in a recreation of the iconic scene from the first film in the franchise. I got this and other shots on May 12, 2018, at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular while I was on a day trip to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
Today begins a new year and these new MagicBands mean only one thing: Our first trip to Walt Disney World for 2019 is upcoming! We’ll be at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for four days and the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend beginning Jan. 11.
I don’t believe this cast member was casting a critical eye on the Orange County Sheriff’s Office patrol car when I got this shot from the parking tram at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 12, 2018. However, it sure looks like that! I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
Captain Phasma leads the stormtroopers down Hollywood Boulevard as they head out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Oct. 20, 2018. The March of the First Order always draw a crowd. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this shot.
Here’s a close-up of a stormtrooper during the March of the First Order at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Oct. 20, 2018. Guess what? Star Wars is big, big and BIG at WDW now. Next year, there will be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Studios. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this shot.
One underappreciated photo that just about everyone takes who parks at a Walt Disney World park is this: Your row. It’s the easiest way to remember! I was on this Amaze row at EPCOT when I visited for a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018.
Look what character is at near the top of the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster at the recently opened Toy Story Land: It’s Rex! I was on a day trip to Walt Disney World when I got my first look at the new attraction. The photo was taken Aug. 25, 2018, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
They move the “Hidden Mickey” images around Walt Disney World. This is actually a “Hidden Minne” because of the bow and it is in an aquaculture tank at Living with the Land at EPCOT. While this Minnie was there on Aug. 25, 2018, when I took this photo, a Mickey was with Minnie previously.
If you need to take a break, here is the best bench at EPCOT. It’s best because the doors to the character spot open and blast cool air on you! Also, it’s under cover (so no rain and no direct sun). You’ll find it in the breezeway leading from the hub at EPCOT to The Land. I was at Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018, when I enjoyed the spot.
I like the blurry photos I get during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. The low light level at the start of the show allows the photo to convey movement. I got this shot of “Indy” at a noon performance on May 12, 2018, during my solo trip to Walt Disney World.
Look out, Belle! Bad boy Gaston is right behind you at the ending number of the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I took the photo during the show on June 2, 2018, during a weekend visit to Walt Disney World.
The Imagineers at Walt Disney World use light and dark very effectively in their designs and here’s the boat on the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT coming out of the dark and into the greenhouse area of The Land. I got the photo on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
My latest visit to Walt Disney World allowed me to get this photo of a Cast Member working at Living with the Land at EPCOT. I’ve never seen a Cast Member using a leaf blower before and you can see she’s wearing both gloves and covers on her shoes to protect the environment. I took the photo on Aug. 25, 2018.
Here’s the latest crop of the nine-pound lemons at Living with the Land at EPCOT. One of my favorite all-time photos from Walt Disney World that I’ve posted on this blog was of a mature nine-pound lemon. Now, I continually check to see how they’re growing. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, of these still-growing lemons.
You’ll always find a chance to enjoy a view at Walt Disney World – even sitting in the food court at The Land at EPCOT. Not only is the decorations nice, but light and shadows make it even more beautiful in a photo. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World.
“Hidden Mickeys” are all over Walt Disney World and it’s something of sport to spot them. Here’s one growing that you can see during the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip. Previously, I posted a photo showing the “Hidden Mickey” not fully developed.
Another visit to Walt Disney World and another helicopter photo! Here’s my latest shot of a chopper going overhead. I got it in the parking lot of Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip.
Another visit to Walt Disney World and another helicopter photo! Here’s my latest shot of a chopper going overhead. I got these in the parking lot of Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip. The helicopter is the speck next to the tower being built for the Skyliner transportation system.
The world’s hottest pepper grows at Living with the Land at EPCOT. It’s the Carolina Reaper and it is 200 times hotter than the well-known and respected jalapeño pepper. I have wanted to try the Bhut jolokia (or “Ghost Pepper”), which at one time was the world’s hottest, but now is seventh or so on the list of top 10 hop peppers. The Carolina Reaper will bring more than tears to your eyes. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World.
I previously posted how you’ll find the hottest pepper on earth (the Carolina Reaper) along the way on the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT. Here’s a photo that just shows “pepper” growing. While not as hot as the Carolina Reaper, these would be pretty tasty. I got the photo on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
Along with helicopters passing overhead, one thing that has become ubiquitous at Walt Disney World are cranes. Construction is everywhere – and will be for the foreseeable future – and they’ve sprouted up like a nice crop reaching for the sky. Now you can even see one while sitting at EPCOT. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip.
Keep an eye peeled even while traveling on the Walt Disney World Bus Service. I got this shot of a monorail car as I rode the bus between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT on Aug. 25, 2018. I was on a day trip to Walt Disney World.
You should recognize this scene: Heading up into Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. I got this shot on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
I know this sunflower isn’t any symbol of Walt Disney World, but I just enjoy the image that I took at Living with the Land at EPCOT on Aug. 25, 2018.
No, that’s not a passenger peeking out of the monorail car as it traveled over EPCOT and that I photographed on Aug. 25, 2018. That’s a character and the monorail is a moving billboard. Along with Cinderella Castle and Spaceship Earth, monorail cars are among my most-photographed subjects at Walt Disney World.
“Woody” greets guests at the latest attraction at Walt Disney World: Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. The new area opened at in June and is pulling in big crowds, especially for Walt Disney World‘s newest coaster – the Slinky Dog Dash. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip to WDW.
With all the construction for expansion projects going on across the entire property of Walt Disney World, it’s turned getting to WDW bus transportation into something of a trek at Hollywood Studios. I got this shot on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip to WDW. It shows just how far you gotta walk to catch a bus.
Here’s a photo showing a boat emerging to the end of the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World. Of course, I posted many times how this ride is my favorite “little” ride at WDW.
Guests get up-close to watch the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster at the recently-opened Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World.
Construction rumbles forward on the Skyliner transportation system and here’s what the work on the depot at Disney’s Hollywood Studios looked like on Aug. 25, 2018. The Skyliner will link up several properties with a hub at Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World and is part of the expansion including new hotels for the Disney Vacation Club.
If you’re wondering why the floating barriers at the construction site of the depot for the Skyliner transportation system at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they help mitigate any runoff from the site going into the lake. I got this shot on Aug. 25, 2018, as I left the park during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
There are obvious and no-so-obvious “Hidden Mickey” logos across Walt Disney World and it’s always fun to spot them. Here’s one that’s out in the open, but not so obvious: Mickey’s ears on a manhole cover. I found this one on the walkway to the entrance at EPCOT from the bus transportation depot. I was on a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018, when I got this shot.
Here’s another in my ongoing series of postings of photos of a monorail train at Walt Disney World. This train was arriving at EPCOT on Aug. 25, 2018. I was there on a day trip.
It’s universal (no pun intended). Everyone looks at the front of an incoming bus while waiting at one of the parks. Everyone looks because they want to know if it’s going to take them either back to a resort or to another park. On Aug. 25, 2018, I wasn’t headed to Disney’s Pop Century Resort, but did get this photo at the EPCOT bus depot during a day visit to Walt Disney World.
The majority of people seeing the fountain near the entrance to EPCOT probably look at it as a momentary rest stop either to organize their party headed into the park or make sure they have everything and everybody on the way out. However, I like the sound of the water. I was at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this photo on Aug. 25, 2018.
Amid all the hustle and bustle of busy parks, you can always find a scene of tranquility at Walt Disney World. Here’s one example: The pond between The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT. You also get a close-up view as monorail trains pass overhead. I got this shot on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
Today’s view of Crossroads of the World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is looking at Mickey as you come into the park (not at his back as you leave). I was on a day trip to Walt Disney World when I got this shot on Aug. 25, 2018.
It’s easy to walk past the “Leave a Legacy” photos at the entrance to EPCOT. Guests are in a hurry to get to rides and Spaceship Earth is right there. However, take a moment! It is a very interesting gallery. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
I simply cannot resist taking multiple photos of Spaceship Earth every time we visit EPCOT. So, here’s another one. I got this shot as I entered the park on Aug. 25, 2018, at the start of a day trip to Walt Disney World.
If you’ve ever ridden Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, you’ll recognize this screen in your vehicle. I was solo on the ride on Aug. 25, 2018, when I got this shot during my day trip to Walt Disney World, so there’s a cartoon image across from my “fun face.”
I can’t wait to take my first ride on the newest coaster at Walt Disney World: It’s the Slinky Dog Dash at the recently-opened Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip.
Before my visit to Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018, I had never seen a cuttings bag used by Cast Members working at Living with the Land at EPCOT. Well, I did see it that day and now you can see it, too. Previously, I’d never seen a Cast Member using a leaf blower (and you can see here using it in this one, too).
I’m sure this is a nice specimen of a Dragon Fruit at Living with the Land at EPCOT. I got the shot while on a day trip to Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018.
I’ve posted how the Imagineers at Walt Disney World use light and darkness in their designs and here’s how they use color, too. This photo is from the boat on the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT going into the colorful area of aquaculture (fish farming) at the greenhouse area of The Land. I got the photo on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
Ah, the blur of color photo. I got this one on the Living with the Land ride at EPCOT. BTW … it is the low light that makes this blur of color, not the speed of the ride. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World. Of course, I posted many times how this ride is my favorite “little” ride at WDW.
Construction, construction everywhere you look these days at Walt Disney World. Here’s the view as I walked into EPCOT at the start of a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018. Across the empty preferred parking area you can see the construction of a new resort, most likely for the Disney Vacation Club. Oh, and it has one of my favorite subjects in it: A crane!
If you want to find hot, direct sunshine, then look no further than the charter bus area of EPCOT at Walt Disney World. Here’s a sign outlining where charter buses park. Frankly, I’d suggest to the higher-ups that shading would be a nice feature here (and I won’t mention my ongoing desire for more seating everywhere across all WDW properties). Thankfully on his bright day, I was using the WDW Bus Service. I got the photo during a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018.
If left to the lowlife politicians of my native state of Florida, the only mangroves left – or at least the only non-polluted ones – will be at EPCOT at Walt Disney World. Here are mangroves at Living with the Land at EPCOT. I got the photo on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
To fracture the name of a song, I’ll say that, “Yes, EPCOT has bananas.” Unlike the Louis Prima rendition of “Yes We Have No Bananas,” the Living with the Land at EPCOT does have them. I got the photo at Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
I’ve posted many photos of cranes at Walt Disney World as construction of new resorts and infrastructure dominate the WDW property. Here’s one of the latest cranes being used on construction of a resort outside EPCOT. In this photo taken Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip, you can see the edge of Spaceship Earth.
I remain amazed at how many people watch big screens with scenes of . Here’s a look at the small crowd watching Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on a light crowd-count morning at Walt Disney World. I just don’t understand the allure of watching video scenes – and yes, characters do come out an perform. I got this shot on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
Along with helicopters and cranes, I like photographing the construction of the Skyliner transportation system. It is a gondola transportation system that links several resorts with Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Here’s a shot of one of the towers in the Studios parking lot that I got on Aug. 25, 2018, as I left the park during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
The Land at EPCOT has nice decorations, although you might not notice them as you hustle onto Soarin’. Here’s a shot I took on Aug. 25, 2018, just so you’ll know what to look for during your visit to Walt Disney World.
I have to say there’s nothing special or remarkable about this photo I took at EPCOT other than it was a truly beautiful day. I was at Walt Disney World for a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018, when I took the shot with my iPhone.
You know you’re in the recently opened Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when you see the Tinkertoy decorations! I was at Walt Disney World for a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018, when I took the shot with my iPhone.
I always take a photo of the S.S. Down the Hatch, which is the ship attached to Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner at Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I take one in hopes I’ll get a great shot. Oh, well. Here’s a nice day, but the photo isn’t anything special, sorry to report. I got the photo on Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
Here you can see a nice peek of the newest coaster at Walt Disney World: It’s the Slinky Dog Dash at the recently-opened Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The signature Tinkertoy pieces provide a nice frame. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during a day trip.
I always enjoy seeing a monorail car. Here’s another one of the monorail car I saw while traveling on the Walt Disney World Bus Service. I was riding between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT on Aug. 25, 2018, when I took this shot. I was on a day trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s how Walt Disney World maintains its image: Meticulous attention to detail. While this cast member trimming in the greenhouse of Living with the Land at EPCOT, the person was also tidying up with this low-power leaf blower. You can see she’s wearing both gloves and covers on her shoes to protect the environment. I took the photo on Aug. 25, 2018.
You always have an interesting view of growing crops in non-traditional ways at Living with the Land at EPCOT. Here’s just one example I saw during my day trip to Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018.
Here’s a somewhat close-up of the Slinky Dog Dash roller coast at the recently-opened Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World.
Clouds make for beautiful backgrounds and accoutrements in photos you take at Walt Disney World. Here’s a towering example of a cloud I photographed while at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip.
We’re back at Walt Disney World today (Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018). I’ve done a solo day trip and Allison has come down from the University of Florida with a friend, but now the family’s back together for a quick day visit. Here’s a shot you won’t see today from me: The screen on Spaceship Earth . Debbie’s photo will be next to mine today! I took this photo on Aug. 25, 2018.
Wow! We hit a savage traffic snag heading to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival on Oct. 20, 2018. It took about an hour to drive from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to EPCOT. Thankfully, we are passholders and didn’t need to buy tickets (the lines there were longer than to get food). Only one good thing: We got to see monorail trains go by over the backed-up traffic! We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this shot.
Here’s a close-up shot of Mickey Mouse on top at the Crossroads of the World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this shot on Oct. 20, 2018.
Even on a hot Saturday afternoon in the fall, you can find “snow” still in your hair and on your glasses after enjoying For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Instead of a light sprinkling that we’ve gotten before, the snowfall on Oct. 20, 2018, was more like an avalanche! We were at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when I got this shot during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
It was an amazing-sized crowd at EPCOT on Oct. 20, 2018, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Here’s a shot of the signature pyramid at the Mexico Pavilion and the crowd either passing by or waiting in a variety of lines for food and drink. We were on a day trip to Walt Disney World when I got this shot.
Construction speeds along on the Skyliner transportation system. I’ve taken photos before and these show the towers completed going to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A hub will be out of and I can’t wait to ride one of the gondolas. We were at Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival when I got this shot.
Construction speeds along on the Skyliner transportation system. I’ve taken photos before and these show the towers completed looking away from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A hub will be out of and I can’t wait to ride one of the gondolas. We were at Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival when I got these shots.
I’ve posted before how clouds make a photo. Everyone has seen the fountain in front of Journey into Imagination. Yet, this spread of clouds make the vista more eye-catching. We were at Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival when I got this shot.
Today, Oct. 31, is Halloween for 2018. So, BOO! Here’s a shot I took at Walt Disney World on March 3, 2018, of the “ghosts” you see on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has ended, but you’ll see these ghosts all year. Enjoy your Halloween! You’ll now have a chance to experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Even the ubiquitous trash cans at Walt Disney World blend in. You don’t even notice them (unless you need it) at Oscar’s Super Service at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. No, you don’t get your car serviced there. You get strollers, wheelchairs or scooters. I got this shot on Oct. 20, 2018, during our day trip.
Here’s another of my shots of the blue umbrellas at Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I just like how the color works with the angles of the umbrellas. I took this photo Oct. 20, 2018, while we were on a day trip to Walt Disney World.
You have less than two weeks to enjoy the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The popular event closes its 2018 edition on Nov. 12 and here’s a view of the entrance to the park that I got during our day trip to Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018. Sorry, but the sun was behind the event sign, so this isn’t a great photo. 🙁
I posted a photo of the “snow” from For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration in someone’s hair after the show. Now, here’s how the snow looked coming down on us! The Frozen Sing-Along is a great stage show and we had simply terrific performers during the late morning event on on Oct. 20, 2018. We were at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when I got this shot during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
If you follow my blog at all, you know I like to photograph helicopters (along with cranes and contrails). Now, I look for them at Walt Disney World every day we’re there. Here’s the one I got at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival on Oct. 20, 2018. We were just starting to visit the World Showcase when I got this shot.

Here’s another series of what we call the “jumping water” outside Journey into Imagination. Our son was captivated by the streams of “flying” water when he was young, so it is entertaining today. I got this shot at EPCOT on Oct. 20, 2018, while we were at Walt Disney World and enjoying the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The stream of water was going over the couple.

Here’s another series of what we call the “jumping water” outside Journey into Imagination. The top one looks like it will curl around the light pole. However, you see how it finishes! Our son was captivated by the streams of “flying” water when he was young, so it is entertaining today. I got this shot at EPCOT on Oct. 20, 2018, while we were at Walt Disney World and enjoying the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The stream of water was going over the couple.
At Walt Disney World right now there is a bunch of construction – of roads; of resorts; and expansion of amenities. However, the most watched and therefore anticipated is for … rides! Here’s what the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster construction looked like on Oct. 20, 2018, as we were ferried to the park by tram. We visited EPCOT during our day visit to WDW that day.
I’ve posted before about how I never tire of photographing Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. Well, here’s more proof. You can see Spaceship Earth from just about everywhere I the park and I got this shot from the hub area on Oct. 20, 2018.
What’s this? Well, it’s easy to tell it’s in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is the ramp at the start of the new Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster. I got this shot Aug. 25, 2018, during my day trip to Walt Disney World.
I’ll post another photo of this Hidden Mickey in a tank on the tour of Living with the Land at EPCOT. However, they might rethink having the one decoration at the far right. 🙂 I always insist on doing the Living with the Land ride and it is a favorite “little” adventure at Walt Disney World. I was on a day trip when I got this shot on Aug, 25, 2018.
Here’s another look at the “snowfall” at the end of the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018, when I got this shot.
We’ve always had great performers for the showings of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Your experience will definitely be defined by the cast members on stage. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018, when I got this shot.
A blazing morning sun greeted us Oct. 20, 2018, when we visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here’s a look at the metal detector at the “guests without bags” entrance. It was very hot here in Florida through the end of October this year! We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018, when I got this shot.
The sun casts interesting shadows early. Here’s a shot I got while we enjoyed beverages shortly after the Oct. 20, 2018, opening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We like the area that used to be home to the Starring Rolls Café, which has since been closed, but its tables and umbrellas remain. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018, when I got this shot.
If we had been looking for a game of Duck, Duck, Goose on Oct. 20, 2018, then we would have just had to find the goose when this duck and another visited us while we were waiting for the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were at the tables for Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner when the visitor arrived with a feathered friend. PS – You can see the other duck’s shadow at the far right of the photo …
It’s always a large crowd for each day’s showings of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were attended the first show on Oct. 20, 2018, during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
You just can’t missing seeing Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. Certainly not as you arrive via tram from the parking lot. Of course, Spaceship Earth is at the front of the park, but you’ll also get nice views such as this one I got on Oct. 20, 2018, during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
Check out the spotlight that illuminates the first wave of “snow” that comes down on the audience near the end of the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018, when I got this shot.
I don’t usually post photos of a pile of dirt we saw during any visit to Walt Disney World, but with so much construction going on … you’ll see them everywhere. Here’s the view of one pile near the construction site for Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster. I got the shot as we rode the tram in from the parking lot to EPCOT during a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018.
It’s only been three days since I posted a photo of Spaceship Earth on my blog. So, here’s another view! I got this one after we entered EPCOT during a day trip to Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018.
Here comes the expressive front car of the new Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster at Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot during a day trip to Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018.
Acrobats warm up during the middle of the show on May 12, 2018, before doing a scene for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
I’ve posted many photos of the stuntman playing “Indiana Jones” during Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. Most are blurred, like this one I took on May 12, 2018. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
Guests, especially young ones such as this young man, get to take part in the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I’d say it’s intimidating for this young man, who’s being watched by hundreds of guests and he’s facing the show’s production crew and their computers. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
OK, so I enjoy posting photos of the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage show. Here’s yet another of the show featuring spoons. I got the shot on May 12, 2018, at Hollywood Studios. I was on a solo trip to Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
Here’s the candlestick Lumière during the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage show. I got the shot on May 12, 2018, at Hollywood Studios. I was on a solo trip to Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
Since we usually travel through the Walt Disney World Bus Service from our resort, we don’t usually get caught in traffic going to the park. However, here was the view from far away from the entrance to EPCOT on a recent trip. The traffic snarl was caused by the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival on Oct. 20, 2018. It took about an hour to drive from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to EPCOT. Thankfully, we are passholders and didn’t need to buy tickets (the lines there were longer than to get food). We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this shot.
Here’s another photo of the fountain in front of Journey into Imagination. Not much else to write about the view, other than serene it is at that spot. We were at Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival when I got this shot.
Here’s another photo of a different pile of dirt at Walt Disney World. I previously posted one that was outside EPCOT and here’s today’s dirt pile: At the under-construction entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I took the shot Oct. 20, 2018, so I’m not sure how far the construction has progressed.
This photo has three things I enjoy photographing: Walt Disney World, the construction of the Skyliner transportation system and … a contrail! Well, there’s a little lens flare from the angle of the sun, but it’s still an OK photo. I got the shot as we were on the tram at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Oct. 20, 2018, and was at WDW for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
I’d say not everyone takes advantage of looking up while visiting The Land at EPCOT. Here are some decorations you might not notice as you hustle onto Soarin.’ I took this photo on Oct. 20, 2018, just so you’ll know what to look for during your visit to Walt Disney World.
I took this photo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the contrast between the harsh morning light and shadows cast by the sun. However, when I was looking more closely at the photo, I noticed the Star Wars sign. Well, get used to it. Studios has a heavy dose of Star Wars and it’s only gonna expand! I took this photo on Oct. 20, 2018, during our day trip to Walt Disney World.
A slow shutter speed and moving your camera will give you an interesting effect in the “snow” of the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018, when I got this shot.
Here’s another photo from inside the greenhouse at The Land at EPCOT. This display shows how you can combine pisciculture (fish farming) and growing plants. Nutrients from the plants are used in raising the fish below. I got the shot while on the Living with the Land ride. I was at Walt Disney World on a day trip on Aug. 25, 2018, when I got this shot.
Allison visited Walt Disney World on Dec. 6, 2018, and here’s a shot she got of the expansion of the facilities at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Construction is everywhere at WDW and it’s impossible to miss.
Riding at the back of any roller coaster has its own aficionados. As you can see from the new Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster at Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the rider in the back is enjoying the experience! I got this shot during a day trip to Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018.

Just looking around while sitting at can be a treat. Here’s the view from a table at Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can check out this: The Hyperion Theater. The theater used to be home to Walt Disney World’s “American Idol” attraction, but now plays to thousands each day for For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. I took this photo during our day trip on Oct. 20, 2018.
Here’s the latest in of my ongoing slow shutter-speed shots from the slow-moving cars in “Spaceship Earth” sphere at the front of EPCOT. In this scene, a Roman courier is about to take off with a message (the scene used to show the chariot going away, but no longer has this component). I grabbed this shot Oct. 20, 2018, during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s another view of cast members performing at Walt Disney World. I already posted one of these cast members in costume on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and so now, here’s the second view. I got the shot June 2, 2018, during a weekend visit.
One show that we always attend in all our visits to Walt Disney World is Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I took the photo during the show on June 2, 2018, during a weekend visit.
Here’s another of my “blur” photos taken at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The slow shutter speed on my Nikon is from the lighting and makes interesting effects during the first part of the program. I got this photo on May 12, 2018, during a day trip to Walt Disney World.
Everyone has fun on the track at the Tomorrowland Speedway. I was on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover on May 12, 2018, when I got this shot. I don’t know these guests, but they do look like they’re having fun (and the gentleman in the foreground is giving hand to the “driver”). I was visiting the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World during a solo day-trip when I got the shot.
Here’s another of my series of photos of the acrobats warming up. You can see that “Marion” watches during the middle of the show on May 12, 2018, before the bazaar scene for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
Here’s yet another “blur” photo from the May 12, 2018, performance of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
Captain Phasma is at the head of the contingent of stormtroopers that march down Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I got this shot on Oct. 20, 2018. The March of the First Order always draw a crowd. We were at Walt Disney World on a day trip when I got this shot.
Clouds and the sun offer an endless variety of photographic experiences. Here’s one showing that and the top of the pyramid of the Journey into Imagination. We were at Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival when I got this shot.
I’ve posted many photos of Spaceship Earth on my blog. So, here’s another! I got this one as we left the World Showcase at EPCOT during a day trip to Walt Disney World on Oct. 20, 2018.
Here’s another view of an Amaranth plant at the greenhouse at The Land at EPCOT: Amaranth. I don’t know much about the plant (click the link to find out that it has edible leaves) but I did photograph it while on a day trip to Walt Disney World. I was on my favorite “little” ride (“Living with the Land”) on Aug. 25, 2018, when I got the shot.
Here’s another view of the end of the ride at Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. I was at Walt Disney World on Aug. 25, 2018, on a day trip when I got this shot. I’ve photographed it better before, but I like the shot. Of course, it’s blurry because my Nikon’s shutter speed is a bit slow because of lighting conditions.
Here’s another view of a Cast Member working at Living with the Land at EPCOT. I had never seen a Cast Member using a leaf blower before and you can see she’s wearing both gloves and covers on her shoes to protect the environment. I took the photo on Aug. 25, 2018.
It’s the Christmas season ending for 2018 at Walt Disney World. We won’t be back at WDW until January, so we won’t see the decorations this late season. Here’s a decoration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from on Jan. 6, 2018, near Echo Lake. Merry Christmas to everyone!
Sparrows are the ubiquitous avian presence when you visit any site at Walt Disney World. Here are three moochers looking for a snack as I sat near the center hub at EPCOT during a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018.
The Imagineers at Walt Disney World are particularly good at signs. Here’s one of my favorites: The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant at Hollywood Studios. I got this shot during a day trip on Oct. 20, 2018.
I previously posted a similar image to this one to show how someone blocks your view at a Walt Disney World show, but this is a nice one showing how video is now ubiquitous. This guest was recording part of the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage show on May 12, 2018, at Hollywood Studios. The guest didn’t hold it up long, but I’m having my view blocked more and more.
Stunt actors get their weapons as “extras” made up of guests get direction and “Indy” and “Marion” get into gear. It’s all part of the middle segment of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip when I got this shot.
I’ve posted images of it before, but here’s the saddest sight to those leaving Walt Disney World: The “electrical Mickey.” I call it that and I got this shot as we left on Jan. 7, 2018. The tower is an icon for WDW along Interstate 4.
The cast member playing the title character during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is a whirling dervish at times. The show is at Hollywood Studios and I was at Walt Disney World for a solo day trip on May 12, 2018, when I got this shot.
Here’s the moment before the fire breaks out during one scene of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. The vehicle “crashes” in front of “Indy” and has no one inside and is being pulled along a track. I got this on May 12, 2018, at Hollywood Studios during my day-trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s an overall shot of a scene in progress at Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. From the top left to the crowd in the foreground, everyone’s watching the action. I got this on May 12, 2018, at Hollywood Studios during my day-trip to Walt Disney World.
Riding the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover gives you a nice view of the Astro Orbiter at the Magic Kingdom. Here’s the shot of it that I got on May 12, 2018, during my day-trip to Walt Disney World.
Here’s another image from the sequence where “Marion” hits a “guest” during the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. The “guest” is really a stunt player and I got this shot while I was on a day trip to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World on May 12, 2018.
Here’s yet another view of the stage at the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage show. I got the shot on May 12, 2018, at Hollywood Studios. I was on a solo trip to Walt Disney World when I got the shot.
Yay! Today we’re back at Walt Disney World. Our daughter is running in the big race for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Here’s a view from something we’re sure to do this weekend: The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom. I got this shot on May 12, 2018, during a solo day trip.
