My movie suggestion for today is … to watch Frankie and Annette on the beach! Choose between the ’60s or the ’80s and you won’t be disappointed by either the original “Beach Party” or the update/sequel “Back to the Beach.” Summer isn’t quite officially here, but everyone in South Florida has been hitting the sand for more than a few weeks now and don’t need to the calendar to declare summertime! So, find “Beach Party,” the first Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello effort that was so scorned by real surfers or jump ahead to their reunion on the beach in “Back to the Beach.” BTW … “Back to the Beach” has a ton of great appearances by your favorite TV stars from the ’60s from “Gilligan’s Island” to “Leave it to Beaver” and you’ll even get Pee-Wee Herman singing.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
