My movie suggestion today is … to watch the Burt Reynolds-Kris Kristofferson football flick “Semi-Tough.” As we’re about to start football season for 2019, “Semi-Tough” is as much a football movie as it is a look back at bad filmmaking in the 1970s. “Semi-Tough” is taken from a comedy novel of the same name by sportswriter Dan Jenkins and just isn’t that good despite having Jill Clayburgh. However bad “Semi-Tough” is on an acting and football level, it is great at mocking the idiotic self-help movements of the time. “Semi-Tough” appears infrequently on the cable grid, so you won’t have much trouble finding it.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
