My movie suggestion today is … to watch mob movie “Donnie Brasco.” It’s not a great gangster film, but “Donnie Brasco” is solid and has A-list headliners Al Pacino and Johnny Depp. “Donnie Brasco” was the cover name of an FBI agent who penetrated the Mafia. Although “based” on a true story, don’t take “Donnie Brasco” as fact throughout (in just one example, the ending for Pacino’s character is completely false). However, “Donnie Brasco” is mostly accurate and Pacino and Depp do wonderful work. “Donnie Brasco” isn’t in the league of Martin Scorsese and is certainly nowhere close to the “Godfather(s),” but you’ll truly enjoy it.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
