My movie suggestion today is … to watch “Charlie Wilson’s War.” Here’s a movie with a great cast (Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman … you can forget about the talentless Julia Roberts) and is the story of a U.S. Congressman’s fight to get arms to the Afghan rebels to fight the Soviets in the 1980s. “Charlie Wilson’s War” is a superlative film with many layers; great acting; and great story-telling from legendary director Mike “The Graduate” Nichols – and it was his last. You simply shouldn’t miss this film. It is topical even today and tells an important story. “Charlie Wilson’s War” is easy to find and might even be making the movie network rounds right now …
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
