It’s not the first time I had to do a quest for breakfast sausage. It took trips to four different Publix stores here in Naples, Fla., on May 12, 2021, to find my favorite breakfast sausage: Odom’s Tennessee Pride (hot). However, the outcome overcame the frustration! For some reason, Publix store managers don’t closely monitor their breakfast sausage. You’ll always plenty of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage (yuck … bottom of the barrel, in my opinion) and even some off brands that don’t measure up or are downright crap. However, when a Publix store does stock the proper “hot” breakfast sausage, I stock up (most stores have the Tennessee Pride “mild,” but are consistently out of the “hot”). Note to Publix: Do a better job, please … you have a great retail presence and your stores rate nothing but excellent … however, your stocking of breakfast sausage leaves a lot to be desired. I got this shot on the evening of May 12, 2021, at the Publix #1337 store.
