Watch it! A movie today? ‘Dear Brigitte’ is wonderful family-friendly fun

Watch It! “Dear Brigitte” is a family-friendly film that is just totally wonderful to experience today. “Dear Brigitte” is from 1965 and is the story of a genius boy who is totally enamored of Brigitte Bardot, who was a top star of the day. His father, played by screen legend Jimmy Stewart, is a college professor who prefers literature to coming technological explosion in the world. Well, the boy starts handicapping horse races (he’s a genius with evaluation of data, remember?) and it’s off to the races – pun intended. Ultimately, he and Stewart wind up meeting her at her home in France. “Dear Brigitte” gets its name from the absolutely tremendous cameo by Ms. Bardot – she wanted to do the cameo, but refused to allow her name in the credits or promotional materials. So, filmmakers changed the working title to her name and now you can find “Dear Brigitte” and you should … Watch It!
