Watch it! A movie today? ‘Demolition Man’ tells the future today (and it ain’t pretty)

Watch It! “Demolition Man” is a Sylvester Stallone sci-fi crime flick that more accurately predicts the future than many such films. “Demolition Man” is the story of a cop (Stallone) and a tough maniac (Wesley Snipes) who together are put into cryogenic storage for crimes they committed. Well, jump to the future and Snipes gets loose; Stallone is thawed to help get him; and the rest … is the future! “Demolition Man” has a future that a bunch of fools today would embrace immediately. As Sandra Bullock’s character notes, ““It’s been deemed that anything not good for you is bad, hence illegal. Alcohol, caffeine, contact sports, meat … bad language, chocolate, gasoline, un-educational toys and anything spicy. Abortion’s illegal, but then again so’s pregnancy if you don’t have a license.” Sound familiar? In any case, check out “Demolition Man” because it is excellent entertainment and a great effort by Snipes. So, Watch It!
