Closed captioning turns a serious topic into ‘poo’

Sometimes, an error made through today’s ignorant closed captioning is downright funny. Take this example of the word “poo” coming out of CC instead of “polio.” Although the serious topic of this part of an episode of “Dragnet” had one officer mentioning that youngsters in the late 1960s had not experienced such things as their neighbors having a quarantine sign on their front door or experiencing polio, the crappy CC has the officer saying “poo.” I got this shot off our television on Sept. 14, 2022, in our family room here in Naples, Fla.
