Countdown to Halloween ’22 … coming in at No. 17 … ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’

OK! It’s the season of Halloween 2022! I’m doing a countdown of my 17 favorite horror flicks that I’ve reviewed for my blog … and I’m starting off today with No. 17: “From Dusk Till Dawn.” Here is probably the goriest, most violent of all the horror films. It is directed by Robert Rodriguez, but it was written by and co-stars Quentin Tarantino … and it shows! “From Dusk Till Dawn” is the story of a couple of violent scumbags, with Tarantino the worst of the two since he’s a rapist along with being a killer. George Clooney is the ostensible star as the “better” of the two lowlife brothers and a whole mess of their violence and murder wind up with them in a very sleazy bar in Mexico that is a nest for vampires.

“From Dusk Till Dawn” appears as if it should have been two films, such as Tarantino did with his “Kill Bill” extravaganza. “From Dusk Till Dawn” has a Tarantino-esque crime element from the start and through the group getting to the bar. From there, the violence turns to gut-churning gore once the vampires decide it’s time to feed.

Wow! You might need an air-sickness bag for this one.

Check back tomorrow for No. 16 …
