Hey everybody, it’s movie time! I’m re-writing the words from the start of a Styx hit song and saying today is “movie time!” For movie time tonight, let’s watch “Good Guys Wear Black” with Chuck Norris. Here is what is considered his “breakthrough” film after he was in “The Way of the Dragon” with Bruce Lee (and that one was only one of his few “bad guy” roles).
As you know from the title of “Good Guys Wear Black,” Norris is the best of the “good guys” here and he kicks proper backside in the pursuit of what’s right in his world … and he drives a really cool “whale tail” Porsche 911.
Unfortunately, “Good Guys Wear Black” suffers from its era of TV-like production as well as the film having a tiny budget by consideration of today’s crap coming out of Hollyweird.
The story of “Good Guys Wear Black” is that Norris led a special mission in Vietnam to rescue POWs, but it failed and now (in the time of the film), members of that special mission unit are being picked off one-by-one.
Of course, you know who ultimately prevails in the film.
Check out “Good Guys Wear Black” not only for it featuring an early Chuck Norris, but also for how things were back in the late 1970s and it was only three years past the end of U.S. involvement in Vietnam. You will get something from it … I guarantee it!
