I’m starting to re-evaluate whether Amazon intentionally ships lithium batteries in a box or if their shipping system is just inefficient by sending small objects in large boxes. I opened this box this morning (Monday, June 22, 2026 at our home here in Naples, Fla.) and found three coin-sized batteries inside – replacements for the ones in our storm shutter controls. When I looked back on my blog, I found this is the second time in the past year that such inefficient packaging delivered batteries and the third time in 18 months. Of course, Amazon has sent window stickers in unnecessarily large boxes, but one still must wonder if batteries cannot be sent in more efficient envelope-type packages.
