These are some special leaves sprouting on a very special hibiscus plant at our home in Naples, Fla. The plant (actually a hibiscus “tree”) was given to us more than 12 years ago after the death of my mother. My cousin and his wife gave it to us after the funeral and we planted it at our home and it has been blooming ever since. However, there are times when I have to prune it back (butcher it?) and then the new leaves shows that it is still alive and ready for another round – just like Mom. Click here for one of my other photos of it and click here for one showing a red bloom among the coral-colored ones.
