I know it’s not much of a record by web standards, but my blog had a major milestone on Feb. 28, 2018. More than 2,000 page-views were registered – and that’s nearly 4½ times above the previous record of 498. With 2,108, my blog reached a wonderful record for a single day and those page views pushed my blog’s total to over 40,000 since I launched it in May 2014.
The single page viewed most often over the past six months (and, no, it isn’t my home page) is my review of the execrable so-called movie “CHIPS.” I dissed this stinkpot pretty good and it keeps getting page views daily. Despite being published just shy of eight months ago (it went live July 9, 2017), “CHIPS” is the third most popular page on my blog of all time and is first over the past six months. Soon, it will pass my review of the TV mini-series “Noble House” and be second-most popular to my home page.
I don’t understand the strength of the review – except that I like it and so my writing is validated 😊 – so I’ll just let it go at that.
So, what happened on Feb. 28? I’d say that a spider hit my blog and searched out images. More than 98 percent of the views were photos from Walt Disney World. Otherwise, why was the most popular page (with seven views) an image of the statues at the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World. While there were other non-Disney photo pages viewed, the vast majority was of image files without links, etc., that the other computer somehow found – I don’t even know how to find those pages.
Ah, well. So there’s my mark standing today. I wonder when it will be broken?
For the record, I have written 321 movie reviews as well as 29 other entertainment reviews; and enjoyed visits from readers from more than 100 countries since my first post on May 22, 2014. Outside of the core of movie reviews, I have 27 photo galleries (14 featuring the 1,396 photos of Disney World that I have posted through today).
