Holy schnikes! Another HURRICANE SEASON begins today!

Hurricane Wilma toppled our big palm tree in our front yard in October 2005. The storm plowed across south Florida after running along a track from Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula to Naples in Southwest Florida and then across the state to pop out into the Atlantic Ocean. Our Naples home was undamaged, but our biggest tree fell.

Well, one of the worst days each year for Florida – and especially South Florida – has arrived: Today, June 1, is the official beginning of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane season. More unfortunate, we’ve already had one named storm (Alberto) before the darn thing even started!

Worse, it’s gonna be a bad one. I wrote the same thing last year and we had Hurricane Irma slam into Southwest Florida. We were very lucky to escape any major damage to our home here in Southwest Florida, but it’s tough to keep dodging a bullet. I pray that our luck doesn’t run out this year.

In any case, here is the best link for hurricane season (It’s the National Hurricane Center):

The Weather Underground used to be good, but then it got bought out and became a corporate tool and its new owner, the company that owns weather.com took away some of its features (naturally, the idiots). Still, here you go:

Good luck this season! We’ll all need it!
