My movie reviews A-Z: Today … ‘The Day of the Jackal’

My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “The Day of the Jackal.” Here is an example of a near-perfect adaptation of a novel going to the big screen. “The Day of the Jackal” is taken from the Frederick Forsyth novel of the same name and is directed to near perfection by legendary director Fred Zinnemann. “The Day of the Jackal” works diligently to increase tension, but by good filmmaking and not just computer graphics. Don’t bother with the somewhat remake with a similar name – that Bruce Willis vehicle stinks and should never have been made. Conversely, film students should study “The Day of the Jackal” as to how to bring a novel to life in the movies.

I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
