My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “A Prayer for the Dying.” Here’s a perfect example of how NOT to bring a novel to the screen. “A Prayer for the Dying” is the story of a disillusioned hit man from the Irish Republican Army who is fed up with life. “A Prayer for the Dying” was an adequate novel, but it could have been so much more – especially given its cast with Mickey Rourke, Bob Hoskins and Alan Bates. Sigh. “A Prayer for the Dying” is just awful from acting to direction to cinematography. Do yourself a favor and don’t watch “A Prayer for the Dying.”
I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
