My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Rounders.” Here’s the best modern-day poker movie you’ll find. “Rounders” hit just before the big poker explosion on TV but, unlike the sleaze of TV poker, the film has stood the test of time. “Rounders” has a couple of A-listers at the top of the marquee (Matt Damon and the actor’s actor Edward Norton) and some great work by supporting stars John Malkovich, John Turturro and Martin Landau. You also get sensational work in “Rounders” by the lesser-known supporting player Michael Rispoli. “Rounders” is about a couple of poker players … well, find out for yourself the much deeper details.
I’m posting all my film reviews in alphabetical order and I’ve updated links and more on many of the reviews. Below is the link back to the full review.
