My alphabetical posting of suggested films continues today with “Ruthless People.” I bet you didn’t know that the Abrahams-Zucker team that is better known for slapstick fare such as “Airplane!” had surely made a grown-up film (and don’t call me Shirley!). “Ruthless People” is the story of a kidnapping where the husband of the kidnap victim would like nothing more than his wife to die and then the film spins out with everyone either hating each other or trying to ruin each other’s life. “Ruthless People” is simply hysterical and while not slapstick, the comedy will keep you chuckling long after you’ve seen the film.
