My movie suggestion today is … to check out some real car chases in cinema. Yes, I know that there are great computer-assisted flicks with outstanding car chase scenes, but, basically ho-hum. With all those computer tools today … big deal. Go back and look at some real car chases. There are three really classic chase scenes in cinema, all done by the same stunt team. They’re the real deal: Steve McQueen in “Bullitt,” Gene Hackman in “The French Connection” and Roy Scheider in “The Seven-Ups.” All had most of the same stunt drivers and coordinator and all are masterpieces from an era where you didn’t get CGI to help (although the “Deadpool” car scenes are smashing because of CGI). So, get out there and check out “Bullitt,” “The French Connection” and “The Seven-Ups.”
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
