The 56th anniversary of ‘The Day of the Jackal’

My movie suggestion today is … to watch “The Day of the Jackal.” I enjoy the book and film so much that I “celebrate” each “anniversary” of the date in the book as “The Day of the Jackal.” I re-read the novel about a plot to assassinate French president Charles de Gaulle and watch the film on each anniversary – and I’ve been listening to the audio book while going and coming from work in recent weeks. The climactic date in the book and film is Aug. 25, 1963. “The Day of the Jackal” is the gold standard in translating a novel to the big screen. Although a lot of details are compressed, the film truly captures what Frederick Forsyth wrote. “The Day of the Jackal” is a must-see for fans of the novel and is a “should see” for those who enjoy great cinema. “The Day of the Jackal” is easy to find, so watch it today!
