My movie suggestion today is … to watch “The Mechanic” with Charles Bronson. This isn’t Bronson’s best (that would be “Death Wish”), but it is close. “The Mechanic” is simply terrific with both understated action as well as an actual plot and characterizations for an “action” film. Bronson is a cold-blooded killer who takes on a protégé in “The Mechanic” and Bronson does a great job in defining the title character. Jan Michael Vincent does an almost as solid job as the young assassin-to-be. You can easily find “The Mechanic,” but don’t be fooled by the simply awful “reboot” or its sequel. Both of those stink. The original is prime cut.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
