Today, Sept. 11, 2019, is the 18th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon. Another attack was thwarted by passengers on a jet who perished when the aircraft crashed in Pennsylvania (click here for an overview of the attacks by Islamic extremists). I’m posting today to remember those who died that day (nearly 3,000) and those who since died due to illness from rescue efforts and the heroic actions of many who go unpublicized today. Here is a photo I took in 2007 at St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City, which became a HQ for rescue efforts. It shows the badges of the many law enforcement and rescue organizations that took part in the rescue operations. I’ve posted many photos over the years and here are some links …
