My movie suggestion today is … to check out “Manhunter.” No, “The Silence of the Lambs” did not introduce “Dr. Hannibal ‘The Cannibal’ Lecter” to movie audiences. That would be “Manhunter” with the good doctor’s name misspelled intentionally by well-intentioned, but stupid, filmmakers. “Manhunter” is by “Miami Vice’s” Michael Mann and is a really watchable thriller. The novel from which “Manhunter” is taken would be later remade into a film with Edward Norton and called by it’s real name (“Red Dragon”), but you can really enjoy William Peterson in “Manhunter.”
