My movie suggestion today is … to watch “The Night Stalker” and “The Night Strangler.” It’s Halloween season and I’m recommending horror flicks. These two are TV movies from the 1970s. “The Night Stalker,” which is a vampire tale (one begins to hunt in Las Vegas), was the original and was for several years the highest-rated TV movie. “The Night Strangler” is the sequel and is the clever story of a regenerating killer who emerges every three decades or so to kill. Both star veteran actor Darren McGavin, who starred in “A Christmas Story,” and both “The Night Stalker” and “The Night Strangler” are really solid horror flicks – since they were TV back-in-the-day, there’s no cursing, minimal violence (by today’s standard) and rely on tension and fright to scare. You can find them on occasion in the DVD bargain bin or try eBay.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog. Below is the link back to the original review.
