My movie suggestion today is … to watch “The Long Riders.” I’m not a fan of westerns, but here’s one of the few that I like. “The Long Riders” is the story of the James-Younger gang in the post-Civil War period. “The Long Riders” is a little-remembered gem from director Walter Hill and it was cast with families of actors – such as Stacy and James Keach as the James boys – and it’s a concept that works very well. “The Long Riders” isn’t a great motion picture, but you’ll have to go a bit to find many westerns that are head-and-shoulders above it.
