One thing that irritates me in films or on a television show is when an obvious mistake is made in the dialogue. Today, I’m showing you one example. Here are two frames from the iconic TV hit show “Two and a Half Men.” Now, the “Charlie Haprper” character played by Charlie Sheen is supposed to be an international-class booze hound. Yet, in this episode – season 2, episode 11 titled “Last Chance to See Those Tattoos” – the character calls Jack Daniel’s a “quality bourbon” after a beautiful woman asks for a “Jack and ginger.” Hmmm. Just check Jack’s website … it tells you that it is NOT a bourbon, it’s Tennessee whiskey – although Wiki says it technically qualifies as bourbon. And I’d say Kentucky would side with Jack on this one. Still, no matter the technical argument. Jack Daniel’s says it’s not a bourbon, so it is NOT. Jeeze, why couldn’t they have done a little research? I’ve been meaning to post this comment for some time since I see it in reruns, but only took the photo off our TV here in Naples, Fla., on Dec. 11, 2019.
