Try this flick … “Rough Cut” with Burt Reynolds, David Niven and Lesley-Anne Down. “Rough Cut” isn’t Burt at his best, but, for some reason, I really enjoy this film each time that I see it. “Rough Cut” is a caper film where Niven as the cop tries to get Burt as the jewel thief. Toss in Ms. Down as the go-between and you’ve got a movie. Like I noted, “Rough Cut” isn’t great, but in the swill that is today’s backed-up septic tank of what Hollywood churns out, I long for the days of a “bad” Burt film as watchable compared to what I mostly see today. You’ll have a nearly impossible time finding “Rough Cut,” so you might have to dive back into the VHS days of you life …
