Try this flick … The original “Going in Style.” Here’s a sensational drama about getting old that was remade into crap. Don’t watch the reboot, go find the original of “Going in Style.” It stars George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg. Although it begins as a look at three pensioners biding their time and wasting away days, it turns dark after the trio decide to spice up their dreary lives by robbing a bank. “Going in Style” is a wonderful look at growing old(er) and society … even though it was released nearly 41 years ago. Zach Braff should have studied the original “Going in Style” before offering up his deficient remake. It’s just tons better.
So, I’m doing a sometimes recommendation of a movie or TV show … and they’re all movies or TV shows that I’ve reviewed on this blog.
