Wow. I guess that no human is doing closed captioning today because even the dumbest of the most ignorant persons on the planet couldn’t know that this one is an error. The documentary was noting the development of machine guns and said that the British produced the “vicar’s” machine gun. The “vicar?” No, they didn’t develop a firearm for a priest. It was the VICKERS machine gun and it is both iconic and historic! The company that produced it was Vickers Limited and parts of the company, after decades in business and mergers, remains alive today. It continues to be simply stunning how closed captioning can be so stupid. Yes, I would understand during a live broadcast, but TV shows, documentaries and movies can all be edited properly. Of course, no one has enough class to do that today. I got this shot off our TV here in Naples, Fla., on Sept. 20, 2020.
