Watching the throwing out of food at a supermarket just … well, stinks

I was at my favorite supermarket (Publix – the Strand) near our home in Naples, Fla., when I saw a sight that made me sad: The tossing out of food. A store member was culling the Key Lime pie bin and this is what’s left over. I didn’t get a chance to photo the whole, unopened, untouched pies stuffed into a garbage can. It’s sad when we waste so much food in this country – especially Key Lime pies! Of course, I’m more disgusted seeing other staples tossed out, but I couldn’t resist with the piesI got the shot while at the deli department of the store on Oct. 23, 2020. PS: The photo of a Key Lime pie on Wiki doesn’t reflect the signature pie from Publix! (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
