Here’s the newest member of our family! His name is Bucky and he’s a German Shepherd. Bucky belongs to our daughter and her husband and they live near San Diego. Obviously, Bucky’s enjoying a moment of respite on the stairs of their home. We’re sure enjoying the photos and video of our family’s newest member! What a handsome fellow! He looks a lot like our 5-year-old long-haired GSD, Hawkeye. We adopted him from the San Mateo County Humane Society when he was 8 months old and found living rough on the streets. It took a lot of training but he is now such a good boy. He is social with other people and dogs to the point where our trainer has nicknamed him “Mr. Ambassador”; he introduces him initially to other dogs who have aggression issues because Hawkeye isn’t reactive and in the worst case scenarios he can definitely take care of himself. All GSDs need a job, and Hawkeye’s is guarding our place. Woe be to any UPS driver, USPS postman, FedEx delivery person, Amazon truck driver, etc. who tries to deliver anything — he goes ballistic! Oh, and he hates loud motorcycles too. (Besides the drivers and motorcycle riders) Everybody loves Hawkeye, and we’re sure that everybody who meets him loves your Bucky too!
