He was nominated for an Oscar for “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton and earned two Golden Globes and three nominations for Globes. Segal was a somewhat prolific actor with 126 acting credits spanning seven decades since the first, a TV movie in 1960, to his final one this year as part of the cast of TV’s “The Goldbergs.” George, who was born on New York’s Long Island, was fun to watch in comedy and solid in dramatic roles.
