Watch It! I’ve given you an example of how not to make a sequel, so today I’ll give you one on how not to make a “reboot:” “The Jackal.” “Reboots” usually stink … they have to since all the filmmakers are doing is trying to wring another dollar out of an original film or TV show. Here’s one that stars Richard Gere and Bruce Willis and is the remake of the simply sensational “The Day of the Jackal” (click here to read my review of that one). “The Jackal” is simply deficient since it doesn’t update the story well, it doesn’t show any creativity (the only creative aspects were stolen from the original) and the acting is wooden at best. In short, “The Jackal” is the story of a hitman hired by the Russian mob to kill … well, find out the rest for yourself. Ah, well. “The Jackal” stinks. So, … Watch It!
