Watch it! A movie today? ‘V for Vendetta’ is deep, dark and exceptional

Watch It! OK, I’m going deep into darkness today with “V for Vendetta.” Here’s a sensational movie about a bleak, dystopian future that seems less fiction today than when it was released in 2006. “V for Vendetta” is the story of a rebel, a young woman who helps him and the society that he is diligently (and explosively) working to change. “V for Vendetta” is written by the creative siblings who brought you “The Matrix” and is as every bit as layered. “V for Vendetta” has outstanding work by its actors, especially Stephen Rea as the conflicted police official, and you have to pay attention throughout to enjoy it to its fullest. Still, “V for Vendetta” is enjoyable, but not in any comedic way and it won’t leave a smile on your face. In any case, Watch It!
