I found the Collier County Sheriff’s Office’s latest decoy unit: This marked truck was parked near Pelican Marsh Elementary school near our home here in Naples, Fla., on May 18, 2021. You can tell the age of the vehicle by the light bar on top: Nearly all active patrol units have LED lights now in a much narrower bar. I’ve enjoyed discovering the CCSO’s decoys (as well as a couple from the Lee County Sheriff’s office to the north of us) and posting them on my blog. Click here to see my other photos of decoy patrol units … UPDATE: The next morning as I drove to work, a speeding driver roared southbound on the highway, zig-zagged lanes and slammed on his brakes when he saw the decoy! Good job, decoy! (Remember: Click on the small image for a bigger version – then click on that one for the full-size photo.)
