Watch It! “Diamonds are Forever” is Sean Connery’s last turn as “James Bond,” you know … 007, (and, no, his reprise in 1987 with “Never Say Never Again” doesn’t count as a true “Bond” flick) and you’ll love it. Not only does it have all the key 007 ingredients – “Blofeld” to international intrigue to Jill St. John – but it also has Las Vegas in the pre-boom days (check out the exteriors of “The Strip” … a great trip back in time to 1971). “Diamonds are Forever” has the typical convoluted 007 plot: The bad guys are planning the end of the world and 007 saves the day. However, there is actually some continuing depth to the 007 story and you’ll find “Diamonds are Forever” to be near the top of the 007 world, but nowhere near Connery in “Goldfinger,” “Dr. No.” or “Thunderball.” So, it’s easy to find, get out and … Watch It!
