Watch It! With “Enemy at the Gates” you get a World War II flick about the war between Nazi Germany and Communist Russia. Many WWII movies highlight the conflict in the west (Europe) or the U.S. campaign in the Pacific against the Japanese, but “Enemy at the Gates” takes you to the city then-named Stalingrad. The battle turned out to be Germany’s first defeat of the war and was the proverbial beginning of its end. “Enemy at the Gates” is taken from a historical account of the battle and it is shown through the eyes of a pair of snipers: one Russian and the other German. “Enemy at the Gates” has great battle scenes, but it is the actors’ work that set it apart from being just another war movie. So, get out there, find “Enemy at the Gates” and … Watch It!
