Watch it! A movie today? ‘Tony Rome’ is noir light from the ’60s

Watch It! OK, so “Tony Rome” has all the stereotypical trappings of a movie from the ’60s with its sexism and cultural references. However, “Tony Rome” with Frank Sinatra as the headliner and title character is noir light in that it is a Sinatra private-eye flick with a look at the dark side of society. “Tony Rome” is the story of Sinatra hired to help a rich man solve problems at home. Well, that’s the easy way to put a relatively convoluted story of “Tony Rome.” Jill St. John and Simon Oakland do good turns and the rest of cast, while not memorable, don’t do bad jobs. You’ll find “Tony Rome” very easily, so find it and … Watch It!
