Watch It! Let me offer up a great western today with “The Long Riders.” I’m not a big fan of westerns (quite a heresy in American cinema), but “The Long Riders” is a wonderful effort about the James-Younger gang and a most unusual kind of “family” film. Director Walter Hill used several families of actors to portray the family members in “The Long Riders.” You’ll find the Quaids, the Keaches and the Carradines. The story is about Jesse James and the gang going about its post-Civil War business of robbing trains and stagecoaches and banks. However, not all is peaceful and each of members has a backstory that is somewhat explored. “The Long Riders” spins out to a fateful conclusion for just about everyone. So, find it and … Watch It!
