Watch It! “Telefon” is an interesting espionage film. It’s not great, mind you, but “Telefon” offers a decently creative plot and it stars Charles Bronson. “Telefon” is the story of a disaffected Russian agent who, to get back at his bosses, begins to activate “sleeper” saboteurs who were planted in the United States years before (“Telefon” is set in the 1970s). So, the Russians send Bronson to the U.S. to get rid of this problem and he hooks up with an American who’s pretending to be a Russian agent but actually on the side of the U.S. “Telefon” also has a parallel plotline in which the U.S. is trying to find out what’s going on and has the wonderful Tyne Daly in this role back at HQ. In any case, “Telefon” is worth your time, so … Watch It!
