Watch It! “Kelly’s Heroes” is one of my all-time favorite flicks and it stars Clint Eastwood. “Kelly’s Heroes” is set in World War II, but becomes a caper film by the soldiers going to rob a bank … but behind enemy lines (“the perfect crime”). However, filmmakers and producers also set “Kelly’s Heroes” up to be part comedy (it has WWII’s only hippie with Donald Sutherland) and really wanted it to be anti-establishment, as the film world did in 1970. “Kelly’s Heroes” as a film is diminished by these agendas, but it is still great and has a wonderful supporting cast with Sutherland, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Carroll O’Connor and Gavin MacLeod. “Kelly’s Heroes” is just past its 51st anniversary and is as good today as it was then. Find it and … Watch It!
