Watch It! “Semi-Tough” is a typical “guys” movie from the 1970s. “Semi-Tough” is basically sexist at its core, but the fun part of the film is how it mocks the in full-force self-help movements of the day. “Semi-Tough” is the story of three longtime friends: two star NFL players (Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson) and the woman (Jill Clayburgh) who lives with them as a friend and becomes a lover of one of them, while the other finally realizes his feelings for the woman. The production of “Semi-Tough” is a big slice of ’70s cheese and the football scenes just stink. If you are even slightly politically correct, then only watch “Semi-Tough” if you want to be horribly offended. If you want to see some great mocking of self-help groups, then … Watch It!
