Watch It! “Silverado” is my third-favorite western. Well, let me clarify by noting that I’m not a fan of westerns – and that’s heresy in American cinema. “Silverado” has it all: It’s a big screen spectacle film; it has a large, varied and accomplished cast; and its story even includes a British sheriff (one of “Monty Python’s” troupe to boot). “Silverado” is actually a much better motion picture than my second-favorite western “The Long Riders,” but “Riders” has the special cachet of being a truly movie starring brothers and my favorite is the Clint Eastwood classic “The Outlaw Josey Wales.” Anyway … “Silverado” is the story of four men drawn together by circumstance and, like all great westerns, it has the good guys winning in the end. So, find “Silverado” and … Watch It!
