On your home big screen: ‘The Killer Elite’ isn’t Peckinpah’s best, but it’s worth watching

Looking on the big screen at your home today, I’m suggesting you find Sam Peckinpah’s “The Killer Elite” (not the execrable “reboot”). It’s nowhere near being that legendary director’s best, but it is watchable and has great headliners with James Caan and Robert Duvall. “The Killer Elite” is the story of a couple of mercenaries who work for a shadowy group that does the dirty work for organizations such as the CIA. The twist is that one (Duvall) is a turncoat and shoots his supposed best friend (Caan) and destroys a mission. From there, “The Killer Elite” shows you Caan’s recovery in aim to get revenge; the new mission that allows him his revenge; and then the revenge. Like I noted, “The Killer Elite” isn’t Sam’s best. But even not-Sam’s-best is better than most.

I’m sure that you’ll need to work on find this film, but make the effort for your “big screen” at home!
