For your home big screen: ‘Dutch’ and its endearing moments are worth your time

Looking on the big screen at your home today, check out “Dutch.” Here’s a film written by the late film legend John Hughes (he was also executive producer) and, while it barely manages to grade out as “good,” it has such endearing moments, such as at the homeless shelter, that it is totally worth your time. In “Dutch,” you have a woman who is divorced and seeing a man, “Dutch Dooley,” who is completely different from her society-driven former husband. “Dutch” offers to drive her son home from military school when the former husband bails at Thanksgiving and lies to the boy. Well, the story of “Dutch” at its heart is the bonding between the boy and the new guy in his mom’s life. “Dutch” stars Ed O’Neill and he does a pretty solid job with this one.

You’ll have little trouble finding “Dutch” for your “big screen” at home, but don’t give up. It’s out there; just find it!
