Countdown to Halloween ’22 … at No. 14 … ‘Phantasm’

OK! It’s the season of Halloween 2022! I’m doing a countdown of my 17 favorite horror flicks that I’ve reviewed for my blog … and today’s finds us at No. 14: “Phantasm.” Here’s a cult fav from the horror vault of the late 1970s and it has it all from a great killer (a changeling called “the Tall Man”) to a homicidal flying steel sphere to settings in a funeral home, a graveyard and a mausoleum. “Phantasm” is almost as much a sci-fi tale as a horror flick, but it is true horror. Don’t worry too much if you don’t come to care about the underlying story of “Phantasm,” since it’s meant to be enjoyed and not studied.

You won’t recognize anyone in the cast of “Phantasm;” its production values aren’t very good; but, you still have to watch one of the horror genre’s legends at Halloween time!

Check back tomorrow for No. 13 …
