OK! It’s the season of Halloween 2022! I’m doing a countdown of my 17 favorite horror flicks that I’ve reviewed for my blog … and today’s finds us at No. 7: “Prom Night.” Finally! We’re in the stretch run to Halloween and come up with a Jamie Lee Curtis “slasher” film. “Prom Night” was one of three horror films featuring Jamie Lee in 1980. The others were “Terror Train” and “The Fog.” Well, “Prom Night” is classic slasher horror. It has a backstory about a family (just like the original “Halloween” with Curtis) and became an almost instant cult fave with the horror crowd. Of course, “Prom Night” happens on, of course, prom night and you also get Leslie “Don’t Call Me Shirley” Nielsen as well as Curtis.
You get a bit more gore and violence with “Prom Night,” but, in the end, it’s more scare than blood and so let yourself be scared!
You shouldn’t have any trouble finding “Prom Night” at this Halloween time!
Check back tomorrow for No. 6 …
